Getting the Most From Your First Conversation

A first message does not need to be polished or long. Still, a few details help us understand where you are and whether we are the right fit. Before you write, it can be useful to jot down answers to a handful of simple questions.

  • What prompted you to reach out now? A new market, a stalled project, a leadership change and a process that no longer scales each call for a different kind of help.
  • What does success look like? Even a rough description of the outcome you want lets us suggest a realistic scope.
  • Who is involved? Knowing who owns the problem and who makes decisions helps us plan who should join an introductory call.
  • What constraints exist? Timelines, budget ranges and internal capacity all shape the approach. A rough sense is fine.

If you are still deciding what kind of support you need, browse our services to see how engagements are usually structured. You can also look through our case studies for examples of problems similar to yours.

What happens after you write

Once we receive your message, we read it carefully and reply with either a few clarifying questions or a suggestion for a short introductory conversation. That first call is exploratory. Its purpose is to understand your situation, share how we might approach it and agree on whether a next step makes sense for both sides. No commitment is expected at this stage.

If we are not the best fit for your needs, we will say so plainly. Where we can, we will point you towards a type of specialist who may be better suited.

A note on confidentiality

Many organizations contact consultants about sensitive matters, such as restructuring, competitive strategy or operational problems they would rather keep internal. Please share only what you are comfortable sharing in an initial email. More detailed information can wait until we have agreed on how it will be handled, including a formal confidentiality agreement where appropriate.
